To make it easier for you to quickly understand my opinion about a wine, I will grade the wines according to the following ’rating scheme’ – graded from 50-100 (highest) – all related to their prices, so also consider the grades as the level of ”value for money”:
50-59 POOR
This wine is not faulty but it is clearly unbalanced and poor in general.
60-69 ACCEPTABLE
This wine is acceptable but is still a wine without very specific aroma or flavour distinctions, and might have some imbalances.
70-79 GOOD
This wine is good and well worth its price, with both aroma and flavour characteristics from its grape variety/region/terroir and is a well-balanced wine.
80-85 VERY GOOD
This is really a good wine, clearly expressing the aroma and flavour characteristics of its grape variety/region/terroir with a lot of elegance and length.
86-89 EXCELLENT
This wine is excellent, giving very much ”value for money”.
90-95 PREMIUM
This is a premium wine which in an excellent way expresses its grape variety and terroir, being well-balanced as well as showing length, intensity and complexity at a high level.
